If I can give any parent advice it would be to read this book. It will answer your questions about how to help ANY of your children, regardless of disability or struggle. Wayne Dyer says it perfectly in this book, to remember that we are on this Earth to enjoy life, and our kids need to enjoy life. They do not need to worry about college, straight As, or hitting home runs at a little league baseball game. They need to feel loved, supported, and feel like they are worthy. They need to feel self love, that is have unconditional internal love for themselves. With self love, children will feel like they can take risks, know that mistakes make them better, and that there is no limit to what they can do.

He goes on to give advice about how to help children deal with disapproval (from peers, teachers, etc), mistakes, challenges, and many other useful strategies.

Overall, this book will help parents not only with themselves, but how to help our children become great people. A definite must read!

presented by kelly scottt & stephanie Setmire

No one is born learning how to read. We have to learn how. For those that find it extremely difficult to learn to read and often times struggle in various areas across academics, they may have Dyslexia, the most common learning challenge. Dyslexia is so common that 1 out of 5 individuals have symptoms of it worldwide. With early intervention and effective teaching strategies, those with Dyslexia can succeed in school.

Since early intervention is so key to ensure a person with dyslexia does well in school, developmentally, socially and academically, it is important for parents to know how to spot it as early as possible. That is why we created this video "10 Ways Parents Can Spot Dyslexia". It is a practical list of characteristics a parent may see and wonder about. Of course not all dyslexics exhibit every single one of these characteristics, but if you watch this video and it describes someone you know closely, it might be something to look into.

Now is our time to act!

Help get AB 1369 passed. This will require early screening in our state's education system to identify children that have reading difficulties, or dyslexia. Those identified will receive effective, remedial services and teachers will be professionally trained and informed about dyslexia. We have a lot of dedicated, caring, hard working teachers who need the tools and resources to help all students learn how to read. AB 1369 is a giant leap towards allowing this to happen.

Click here to access a document that will explain and provide all the information about how you can help.
