No one is born learning how to read. We have to learn how. For those that find it extremely difficult to learn to read and often times struggle in various areas across academics, they may have Dyslexia, the most common learning challenge. Dyslexia is so common that 1 out of 5 individuals have symptoms of it worldwide. With early intervention and effective teaching strategies, those with Dyslexia can succeed in school.
Since early intervention is so key to ensure a person with dyslexia does well in school, developmentally, socially and academically, it is important for parents to know how to spot it as early as possible. That is why we created this video "10 Ways Parents Can Spot Dyslexia". It is a practical list of characteristics a parent may see and wonder about. Of course not all dyslexics exhibit every single one of these characteristics, but if you watch this video and it describes someone you know closely, it might be something to look into.
